As a family-based breeder in Utah, we focus on raising well-balanced, affectionate, and healthy Golden Retrievers that meet breed standards. Therefore, our mission goes beyond breeding, it’s about building lifelong connections.
Our Story – A Dream Rooted in Goldens
Our love for Golden Retrievers started long before we founded The Golden Virtues. We grew up surrounded by the calm, loyal nature of these beautiful dogs. As a result, we dreamed of raising our own, following strict breed standards and prioritizing their health.
In 2021, that dream came true when we brought Faith into our lives. She quickly became more than a pet, she became a partner. Through her, we discovered the joy of training, competing, and growing together. Most importantly, she taught us about dedication, patience, and the powerful bond between dog and human.
Champions in Heart and in Titles
Earning ribbons and titles has been both rewarding and a great learning experience. Because we focus on European Golden Retrievers, we show with IABCA, an international show where multiple judges compare each dog to the breed standard. Our dogs have earned titles there that I’m very proud of.
The AKC recognizes all Golden Retrievers, but their conformation rings lean more toward the American style in color. Because of this, I choose AKC events that they can participate in and that my dogs can truly enjoy. I never want them doing something just for the sake of a title. What matters most to me is their health, happiness, confidence, and the bond we build together.
We’ve tried many classes and found that my dogs really light up with basic obedience and scent work, so that’s where our focus is currently. I love that there’s always room to learn, grow, and try new things with every generation.
Life at Our Home in Utah
Our dogs live on a peaceful 1-acre property in a small Utah town. They live in our home and are part of our family. Each day, they enjoy a safe, fenced backyard with shade, toys, and plenty of space to play.
We live near the mountains, so our dogs often join us for hikes and outdoor adventures. In addition to off-leash exercise, they enjoy structured walks through our quiet neighborhood. These daily activities help keep them healthy, happy, and well-socialized.
Inside the home, our Goldens are house-trained, well-mannered, and lovingly spoiled. They sleep on comfy beds, play with our four children, and interact regularly with our other animals.
