This is a repeat pairing because I loved the results so much—I even kept a puppy! My dog, Hope, is a daughter from this pairing. Knowing they produce wonderful puppies, I wanted to bring them together one more time. Both dogs meet the breed standard, hold titles, have their OFA clearances, and have done genetic health testing.
Steps on How To Get A Puppy
Begin by completing the Puppy Request Form found on the contact page. Following your submission, we will promptly send you an email to confirm whether your request has been approved. I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have at any time.
Upon approval, a signed puppy agreement and a nonrefundable $500 deposit will be required to secure your spot on our waiting list. This deposit guarantees your priority in selecting a puppy, with selections made in the order deposits are received. The deposit will only be refunded if our female does not conceive or in the case of any other issue attributable to The Golden Virtues.
Puppy selection begins at 7–8 weeks of age. Choices can be made based on our guidance regarding temperament and personality, an in-person visit, and the results of a temperament test conducted at 7.5 weeks. Selections will be made in the order of the waiting list.
I work from home, so I’m with my dogs all day and personally handle all the training, care, and whelping. For the first three weeks, the puppies stay in a whelping box in my bedroom, where I can keep a close eye on them throughout the night. It’s a bit like being a new mom—sleeping lightly and waking frequently to check on them. Around 3 to 4 weeks, I move them to a larger, fenced area in my dining room, which has access to a fenced backyard with toys. At about four weeks, we start letting them explore outside, gradually increasing their time outdoors as they grow. Bedding is cleaned several times a day, puppies are handled frequently, and early training activities are introduced. Both the mother and puppies receive high-quality food. With myself, my husband, and our four kids, the puppies are constantly cared for and are our top priority during this time.
If you’re ready to experience the unconditional love and joy that a Golden Retriever brings, we invite you to become a part of our extended Golden family. Together, we can ensure that the journey you embark upon with your new furry friend is filled with love, laughter, and countless golden moments.
Golden Retrievers originated in Scotland during the 19th century, bred primarily for retrieving game during hunts.
They are social animals and thrive on human companionship, often developing strong bonds with their owners and family members.
Golden Retrievers are known for their "soft mouths," meaning they have a gentle grip when retrieving objects, making them ideal hunting companions.
They are excellent with children and other pets when properly socialized from a young age, often displaying patience and tolerance.
Golden Retrievers have a strong retrieving instinct, which can sometimes result in them retrieving objects or toys without being asked.
